There two (2) Skilled Worker Migration Pathway to Canada:
Federal Skilled Worker
Quebec Skilled Worker
This 2 pathways have different criteria or requirements for eligibility in applying for migration. But both of the above are under the points system.
The following are considered for eligibility both immigration programme:
- Educational Qualification
- Age
- Work Experience
- Language Profiency
- Access to fund
- Civil Status
The processing time varies from case to case. The fees also varies from each other. But the programme doesn't require the nurse to have an sponsor to successfully achieve his/her permanent stattus (PR) or "immigrant" in Canada.
Benefits of a PR in Canada:
1. You can live, study and work in any parts of Canada. You work without limits as to the number of hours. You do not need an employer to sponsor you for work visa anymore.
2. You are entitle to Free access of the healthcare services in Canada.
3. If you are married, you can bring your spouse and children to live permanently in Canada.
4. You children will have a free access to education.
5. You can apply to become a Canadian Citizen.
If you are interested in processing for Quebec skilled worker you must act NOW as the Nursing occupation is still on the 2009 List of preferred areas of training. Being listed on the areas of training, processing your application will be prioritised.
