Norway Residence Permit for Skilled Worker to Learn Norwegian Language
Information about the Residence Permit to learn Norwegian Language:
Purpose of the Permit: There are two purposes of the Permit:
- To Learn the Norwegian Language by studying it in Norway;
- To seek employment in Norway. Condition: the job must be related to the qualification
Aim of the Permit: To give the skilled worker, particularly from non EEA countries, an opportunity in obtaining a job in Norway after learning the Norwegian Language. Most employers in Norway requires candidates to be conversant in their language.
Duration of the Permit : This is given up to 12 months.
Other Facts:
- May take any job as part-time while studying the Norwegian Language.
- Processing tme can be shorter. Visa can be obtain in 15 days.
- No tuition fee is required particularly the state-owned schools, instead a minimal registration fee is required.
Nursing In Norway
Although Nurses are considered skilled worker in Norway, a Filipino nurse who wish to find employment in Norway must be able to achieved the following:
- Be have an "authorization" to practice nursing with the Norwegian Registration Authority for Health Personnel (SAFH)
- Must be able to conversant of the Norwegian Language. It should be noted that to apply for "authorization" with SAFH, a nurse need not to demonstrate the proficiency of the Norwegian Language but the employer requires the proficiency.
There are two type of Nurses in Norway: General Nurse which is equivalent to Registered Nurse and the other one is the Auxiliary Nurse.
The processing time for SAFH application for authorization is 3 month.
